Dr. Dexter Gregory Johnson

M.D., D.D.S., F.R.C.D.(C), Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr. Dexter Gregory Johnson M.D., D.D.S., F.R.C.D.(C), Dip.ABOMS is a dual degree, Harvard trained, Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He holds degrees in Medicine and Dentistry. In 1989, Dr. Johnson graduated from McGill University with the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He earned the Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medical College in 1995.

Dr. Johnson then trained in general surgery for three years at The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey while also obtaining his medical license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania, U.S.A. He subsequently pursued specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Harvard and Massachusetts General Hospital, in Boston, M.A., graduating in 2001. A past member of McGill University’s Board of Governors, Dr. Johnson has also served on the Admissions Committee evaluating applicants to the McGill Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. He has practiced in Ottawa, Ontario since 2001.

Dr. Johnson is married to Dr. Anita Brown-Johnson, Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at McGill University, and Chief of Family Medicine and Secondary Care Division Director at McGill University Health Center. Dr. Johnson and his wife are proud parents of
Anastasia – a graduate of the American Music and Dramatic Academy/AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts, New York University Tisch School of the Arts, and Columbia Graduate School of Journalism – and Nicholas, Princeton University’s first Black Valedictorian in its 274-year history.

Dr. Freddy Fokam

DDS MSc (perio) – Periodontist

Dr. Freddy Fokam obtained his DDS from the University of Lille in France. After completing a 2-year hospital-based internship in oral surgery, Dr Fokam relocated to Quebec, Canada, where he practiced general dentistry for 5 years before starting an extensive specialty training program in Periodontics. Dr. Fokam completed a three-year residency and a Master’s degree in Periodontics, with a focus on dental implants and periodontal plastic surgeries, at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. He then decided to relocate to Ontario where he now offers periodontal and Implant surgery care to the people in the Cornwall area.

Dr. Fokam is very passionate about helping his patients and improving the overall health and appearance of their smiles. Providing high-quality treatments, in a relaxing and friendly environment is what makes him so appreciated by his patients.

Dr. Pierre-Luc Aubry

DMD ABOMS FRCD(C) – Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr. Pierre-Luc Aubry graduated from the University of Montreal in 2008 and went on to complete a multidisciplinary dental residency at Denver Health Medical Center. He practiced as a general dentist in Quebec for 2 years before enrolling in an Oral Surgery Internship at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn. In 2016 he completed an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Denver Health Hospital.

Dr. Aubry provides Oral Surgery services in our office to Seaway Family Dental patients and patients from referring offices in the area at least twice per month. This includes wisdom teeth extractions, dental implants, and other treatments both with and without IV sedation to provide the most comfortable experience for the patient.

Dr. Tanya Goiporia

Associate Dentist

Dr. Tanya Goiporia is a compassionate dentist with a D.D.S from University of Western Ontario and a B.D.S degree from D.Y. Patil University. She has over five years of work experience in dentistry, two of which she worked as a dental assistant, where she learned dentistry from a different perspective.

She has a warm and friendly approach, and is dedicated to patient-centred care, where she addresses a patient’s unique needs, from routine check-ups, cosmetic procedures, to specialized treatments.

Dr. Tanya actively seeks opportunities for continued dental education and clinical training, by being a trusted member of professional organizations like the Ontario and Canadian Dental Association (ODA and CDA), and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO).

During her career, she has organized and participated in research projects and volunteered with charitable organizations such as Rotary Club of Bombay and National Association for the Blind, in India.          Outside of her practice, Dr. Tanya spends her time swimming, gardening, and playing badminton. She has recently made Cornwall her home and is exploring the town and hiking trails in the area with her husband.

Dr. Kamal Saad

Associate Dentist

Dr. Kamal Saad earned his DDS from the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University. He previously completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences at McMaster University, where he also worked as a teaching and research assistant. His commitment to professional growth is reflected in his active membership with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), as well as the Ontario and Canadian Dental Associations (ODA & CDA), where he remains engaged in ongoing education and collaboration.

Dr. Saad brings a strong focus on personalized care and community service. He began pursuing his dental studies at Homs University in Syria before immigrating to Canada. He’s also passionate about charitable organizations and supports newcomer youth programs in Canada, and has participated in humanitarian initiatives during the Syrian crisis. At Seaway Family Dental, his mission is to serve patients with a caring, detail-oriented approach to general dentistry.

While he enjoys all aspects of dentistry, Dr. Saad also loves staying active, spending quality time with his family, and exploring new places in the Cornwall community in his free time.

Dr. Abdul Yakan

Associate Dentist

Dr. Abdul Yakan graduated from the University of Aleppo in 2002. After graduation, he immediately began working at a community health centre while receiving training in orthodontics at a private dental office in Aleppo.  

2004 Dr. Yakan moved to France where he obtained a Certificate of Superior Studies in Dental Materials from the University of Nantes. He obtained a Certificate of Superior Studies in Orthodontics from the University of Toulouse in 2006 and a University Diploma in Orthodontics from the University of Bourgogne in 2008. He moved to Kuwait in 2008 where he practiced Orthodontics at Taiba Hospital for six years before moving to the USA.  

In 2016, Dr. Yakan joined the Internationally Trained Dentist Program at the University of Michigan and graduated in 2018 with a DDS degree. Dr. Yakan practiced dentistry in Kansas for a short period of time before moving to Ottawa where worked at Trillium dental. He joined Seaway Family Dental in 2019.

Dr. Yakan is a member of the RCDSO and ODA. At Seaway Family Dental, Dr. Yakan practices General Dentistry and is also providing complete orthodontic treatment to our patients.

Dr. George Limantzakis

Dentist

Dr. George Limantzakis received his DDS from McGill University in 1998 and has been practicing dentistry for over seventeen years. He furthered his studies by completing a general practice residency at the Royal Victoria Hospital. His dedication to continuing professional development is evident in his participation in many associations, including the Ontario and Canadian Dental Associations (ODA & CDA), Millenium Dental Study Club, Cornwall, and District Dental Society. He has also served on the Executive Council of the Montreal Dental Club and was a clinical instructor at the Royal Victoria Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Oral Health Centre. He is also an active ODA Councillor for the Cornwall and District Dental Society.

Dr. Limantzakis possesses certification in Lumineer veneers, oral and nitrous oxide (laughing gas) sedation dentistry, intravenous (IV) sedation, Invisalign orthodontics, and implant training (surgical and prosthetic).

Dr. Limantzakis strongly believes in giving back to his community. He started the Dentistry From the Heart initiative for Cornwall and surrounding areas in 2012 (see the About pages). He also supports various charitable organizations including the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association, Multiple Sclerosis Society, The United Way, Boys & Girls Club of Cornwall Anti-Bullying Campaigns, and the Agape Center. He proudly sponsors such initiatives as the Seaway Valley Theatre Company, Girl’s Hockey and Soccer leagues, and the United Counties Science Fair.

While he loves all aspects of his career, Dr. Limantzakis like to keep busy outside of work. In addition to sharing lots of fun and memorable times with his wife and two young daughters, he enjoys reading, swimming, and football.
